What a root canal does

A root canal is needed when the soft tissue inside a tooth is inflamed or infected because of deep decay, a crack, or an injury. Leaving it untreated can lead to swelling, an abscess, and loss of the tooth.

At Smile Dental Clinic in Gonda, the infected tissue is cleaned from the canals, the space is disinfected, and the tooth is sealed. The aim is a comfortable visit and a tooth that can keep working in your bite.

How the visit works

Step 1

Examination

We check the tooth, review symptoms, and take an X-ray to see the roots and surrounding bone.

Step 2

Comfort first

Local anaesthesia numbs the area so cleaning the canals does not feel sharp or painful.

Step 3

Cleaning and sealing

Infected pulp is removed, canals are shaped and disinfected, then filled and sealed.

Step 4

Protect the tooth

A filling or crown is planned so the treated tooth can chew safely again.

What you can expect

Saves the natural tooth

Keeping your own tooth is usually better for chewing than removing it.

Relieves infection pain

Cleaning the source of infection reduces throbbing pain and swelling.

Protects nearby teeth

A sealed tooth is less likely to spread infection to the bone and gums.

Everyday comfort

Most patients return to normal meals once the tooth is restored.

Comfortable dental operatory

After your root canal

Mild tenderness for a day or two is common. Take medicines only as advised, avoid chewing hard food on that side until the final restoration is placed, and keep the area clean with gentle brushing.

Call the clinic if pain increases, swelling returns, or the temporary filling comes out. A follow-up visit lets us confirm healing and place a strong final filling or crown.
